To mark the true beginning of summer, this group exhibition explores and celebrates nature’s deeply woven influence on these five artists and on their artistic practices.
Cristi Rinklin carefully weaves together landscapes from various locals and visual sources, while she thoughtfully reminds us that these are altered memories constantly evolving into a singular painterly moment. Heather McGill references nature in her densely patterned layers, utilizing a variety of fabrics through which she pours her pigments and unearths her rich compositions. Andy Millner imagines a Floating World where his complex digital drawings find new expression, creating a magical space in which nature reigns. Marc Schepens rigorously explores his subject matter, the ocean surface, refining the linear rhythm of the waves into a stunning liminal space. Thomas Jackson artistic practice explores new ways to engage directly with nature, caressing a coastal hillside with floating tulle fabric that heightens the sheer beauty of his chosen landscape.
Please join these accomplished artists for first Friday, July 7th 6-8 pm
